We have created a new scholarship category to combine with our mission of encouraging and supporting education in the country of Malawi.

This award is less specific in its criteria.  We have chosen Mathew Kasanjola (below) to receive the first award to assist him in furthering his education in accountancy.  Mathew has a desire to further his education which will assist him in furthering the economic advancement of his country.

Mathew has been working on his degree in accounting for several years and is dedicated to his studies.  He has assisted Educate Malawi, Inc. in maintaining communications about the Namitsitsi classroom block project.

PATRICIA KAONDO (RIGHT PICTURE ON RIGHT).

EDUCATE MALAWI WILL SPONSOR THEM FOR THEIR 4 YEARS AT THE

BAKHITASCHOOL.

ALLINA WALLANI

Allina won a scholarship in June 2012.  She is 13 years old and is being raised by her mother.  Her confidence and enthusiasm greatly impressed the scholarship committee.  When asked at the scholarship ceremony what advice she would give other girls like her, she proudly raised her voice and scholarship certificate and told the crowd that a girl must study hard like her!  Our team in Malawi reports that Allina is doing well during her first term at Bakhita, ranking in the top 10 of her class this term.  Educate Malawi is a full sponsor of Allina’s scholarship providing financial support for all four years.

PATRICIA KAONDO

Patricia won a scholarship in June 2012.  She is 17 years old and being raised by her grandmother.  She left school a few years ago to care for her ill parents before they passed away.  She is determined to finish school and dreams of becoming a nurse.  The scholarship committee was impressed by her English speaking skills and struck by her generous heart and determination.  Our team in Malawi reports that Patricia is doing well at Bakhita.  We will have each students’ grades in January and speak with Bakhita’s headmaster to make sure the girls continue to meet our standards.  Educate Malawi is a full sponsor of Patricia’s scholarship providing financial support for all four years.
